So far the journey of pregnancy has been really smooth for me! I’m SO grateful for never getting morning sickness during my first trimester. I really only experienced fatigue for a while, which is still something I battle every now and then. I never had any serious cravings, but I am the ultimate foodie, and eat everything. Luckily, there hasn’t been anything that makes me repulsed either. The first months have been relatively easy for me, and really enjoyable. Knock on wood every time I say that, because now is the not the time for me to develop weird things happening.
My body definitely went through changes by week 12. I am naturally a petite person, BUT when I eat I have always had a mega food baby after. So it was hard to distinguish when I was really getting “the bump.” Starting at 12 weeks, it was like the pooch just never disappeared. I didn’t feel any different, but I noticed little changes going on during that time. By 14-15 weeks in, my hips widened a bit and clothes weren’t fitting. Certain pieces or brands that used to not fit me because they were too big, were way too small. I never really had boobs, and they started to grow, finally!
I have been very busy throughout my second trimester, and I’ve gotten back into my normal routine of things. If you follow me on Instagram, you could see that March was a busy and eventual month. I knew I needed to take advantage of my time to get as much work done as possible to stay on track. I had a lot of photoshoots, which has helped me with my content all the way up until this day. It can be confusing because some of the pictures I am still posting, is old content. But that is part of my job and it needs to be posted, but if you see me on a weekly basis, you know that is not what my body looks like. I am not trying to hide it, but I am still working and I need to stay on track. I am soon to be caught up with my posts to where it will all be current on my life. I post stories all the time to make sure everyone is up to date with what is going on. I have taken it easier over the month of April for sure. My body told me I needed to slow it down, so I have been doing more work projects from home.
Besides staying busy at work, I am trying to stay as active in the gym as much as possible. I was working out 2-3 times a week in Feb-March but it’s slowed down a bit over the last few months. Around 17-18 weeks, I developed the round ligament pains. They haven’t gotten any better, and it’s painful all day long. Walks are encouraged, so I try to get my steps in but it’s sometimes it’s so painful to walk even down the street. My pains aren’t on the sides like most, but right in the middle where my uterus area is. It’s so uncomfortable! Getting out of bed is the hardest and adjusting around in bed is difficult too. As active as I have been trying to stay, sleeping has been an issue for me. I swear I am awake overnight from 4-6am. Then I’m awake at 8am for the day. It’s been really hard because then I’m exhausted by 2pm and in need of a nap. I’m actually having one of those days right now, so I usually grab my laptop and do some light work. It’s actually a little beneficial because I start to write a blog post, then get in the zone and not end up actually napping.
Now that we are entering 20 weeks, I have officially had the belly pop! I cannot believe we are at the halfway mark, INSANE. I don’t have jeans that fit, and I basically live in dresses. Soon I’ll be living in a bikini and sitting at the pool or beach every day. We are about to find out the gender this weekend, and CAN NOT WAIT. Neither of us have a feeling that were having one gender over the other. So when that confetti shoots out blue or pink, I will be just as shocked no matter what! We can’t wait to know what Baby B is!! All I know is the shopping is soon to be begin, and I’m going to go broke. I will continue to keep you all updated on our journey, I feel like it’s getting more and more exciting. I have so much to share with you guys, so stay tuned on new posts! I will be talking about products I have been loving, how I’m staying balanced, how I am maintaining my health, and what we are eyeing for the nursery! Have a great Easter weekend everyone!
